Introduction

Welcome to Glowmi. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

When you use Glowmi, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
  • App Preferences: Your settings, preferences, and customization choices within the app.
  • Photos & Beauty Data: Selfies and makeup photos you upload for AI features (skin analysis, try-on, look feedback), plus products and looks you save in your journal.
  • Face Data: Photographs of your face that you take or select in the app, and cosmetic attributes we derive from those photos. See the Face Data section below for collection, use, disclosure, sharing, retention, and deletion.
  • Beauty Collections: Information about the makeup products and looks you save, including product names, brands, photos, and personal notes.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app to help us improve your experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Glowmi app functionality
  • Deliver AI-powered cosmetic guidance features (skin analysis, try-on, feedback, color palette)
  • Save and sync your beauty collections and looks across your devices
  • Personalize your experience within the app
  • Improve our app features and user experience
  • Send you important updates about the app (if you opt in)
  • Respond to your support requests and communications

Face Data

Glowmi collects face data only when you use camera- or photo-based features. This includes photographs of your face that you take or select (for example a bare-face selfie, a makeup try-on photo, or a finished-look photo), and cosmetic attributes we derive from those photos (such as estimated face shape, eye shape, eyebrow shape, lip shape, skin tone, undertone, and skin type). Glowmi does not collect TrueDepth, Face ID, or ARKit face-mesh data.

We use this face data only to provide in-app features you request: skin analysis, color palette, makeup try-on, and look feedback. We do not use face data for advertising, marketing, or to build advertising profiles. We do not sell face data.

Face photos are stored in our private cloud storage (currently hosted by our infrastructure provider) and associated with your account. Derived cosmetic attributes are stored in our database. We share face photos with third-party AI processors solely to generate the requested result: OpenAI (skin analysis, color palette, and look feedback) and Google Gemini (makeup try-on). Those providers process the photo on our behalf and do not receive it for their own advertising.

Face data is retained until you replace it in the app (for example by uploading a new bare-face photo), delete related history in the app where available, or delete your account. If you delete your account, or request deletion by emailing beautyjournalapp@gmail.com, we delete stored face photos and derived face attributes from our systems within 30 days. Data previously sent to AI processors may remain subject to those providers' own retention policies.

Third-Party AI Services

Glowmi uses third-party artificial intelligence services to power its AI features. When you use features such as Skin Analysis, Makeup Try-On, Look Feedback, or Color Palette, we may send relevant inputs to these providers for processing on our behalf. This may include:

  • Photos you upload (such as face selfies or makeup looks)
  • Text prompts and context needed to generate a response (for example, feature type or skin profile details)
  • Technical metadata related to your request (such as timestamps or error logs)

These providers process your data solely to deliver AI results within Glowmi. AI outputs are for cosmetic guidance only, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

We may change or add AI providers over time. If we do, we will update this Privacy Policy. Each provider's handling of data is also governed by its own privacy policy and terms.

Other Third-Party Service Providers

In addition to AI providers, we use trusted third-party services to operate Glowmi, such as:

  • Cloud hosting and database providers to store your account data, photos, and journal content
  • Apple (App Store) to process subscriptions and payments
  • Authentication and infrastructure services that help us keep the app secure and reliable

These providers may access personal information only as needed to perform services for us and are required to protect it in line with applicable law and their agreements with us.

Data Security

Your data security is our priority. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:

  • All data is encrypted during transmission and storage
  • We use secure servers and cloud infrastructure
  • Access to your data is strictly limited and controlled
  • We do not sell your personal information
  • We do not share your data with advertisers or marketing companies for their own purposes
  • We share data with service providers (including AI providers listed above) only as needed to operate Glowmi and deliver features you request

Data Retention and Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • You can delete individual looks and items from your collections at any time within the app
  • You can delete your data through the app settings

  • Upon account deletion, all your personal data, including stored face photos and derived face attributes, will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Data previously processed by third-party AI or infrastructure providers may be subject to their own retention policies.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request corrections to your personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of promotional communications

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Glowmi after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
