How Glowmi's Skin Analysis works
Glowmi's Skin Analysis estimates visible characteristics from a bare-face selfie—such as skin tone, undertone, type cues, and surface concerns—to personalize makeup shade and look guidance. It is cosmetic guidance only, not a medical diagnosis.

What it analyzes
From a clear bare-face photo, Skin Analysis looks for traits that matter for makeup decisions:
- Apparent skin tone (how light or deep your skin looks)
- Undertone direction (cool, warm, or neutral)
- Skin type cues visible in the photo
- Visible surface concerns that can affect shade and finish choices
Those results help unlock a personalized color palette and make try-on and look feedback more relevant to you.
How to take a useful selfie
- Use even, natural light when you can
- Skip heavy filters, strong shadows, and full makeup on the analysis photo
- Face the camera directly with a neutral expression
A well-lit, unfiltered bare-face photo usually produces more useful cosmetic guidance than a stylish but dark or heavily edited shot.
What it does not claim
- It does not diagnose, treat, or assess medical skin conditions
- It does not replace a dermatologist, esthetician, or makeup artist
- It does not guarantee one exact foundation bottle across every brand
- Results are suggestions based on what the photo shows, not clinical findings
Privacy and AI providers
Glowmi uses AI providers (including OpenAI and Google Gemini) to power analysis and related features. How photos and requests are handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
How this fits Glowmi Pro
During onboarding you can try Skin Analysis (or another AI feature) once. After that, continued AI use and the beauty journal require Glowmi Pro. Fair daily and monthly usage limits apply. See the App Store for current plans.
